During today and tomorrow, I’m attending to the Gartner “PPM (Programa and Portfolio Management and IT Governance” Summit 2010, in London, in behalf of Microsoft Innovation Center – Productivity Center (www.productivitycenter.org).
This morning, there was an interesting Panel Discussion (“PPM & IT Governance Trends, Best Practices and Future Scenarios – A view from the industry”), with the participation of CA Technologies and Microsoft
Donna Fitzgerald, from Gartner, proposed 6 questions and everyone of the participants answered to them.
Here are the questions and the answers:
- Over the next 5 years “change management” is expected to become an important new component of PPM practice and will require support in PPM software
Microsoft: Strongly Agree
CA: Agree - Over the next 5 years the most significant element of web 2.0 that will be included in every PPM tool will be predictive markets
Microsoft: Agree
CA: Strongly Agree - As PPM matures over the next 5 years new features functions will be required. Improved support for finantial management in PPM tools will be the most important
Microsoft: Agree
CA: Neutral - Over the next 5 years the feature function that project teams member will demand is better workflow capabilities
Microsoft: Strongly Agree
CA: Agree - Customers would most like vendors to emphasize “better reporting and analytics” in the software going forward
Microsoft: Agree
CA: Strongly Agree - New customers will be buying software in the future. Specialized PPM products for each business area will become the norm.
Microsoft: Strongly Disagree
CA: Disagree
I think they are interesting, because are the opinion of the two main PPM solutions developers in the worldwide market.
